Weekly Parsha - An Overview and Deep Dive

Every Friday Morning from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Each week, we will devote half of our session to an overview of the weekly Torah portion so that participants will be familiar with the whole content. The second half of the class will be devoted to a deep dive into one (maybe two) specific verses or ideas as seen through the creative eyes and the mystical soul of one of our classic commentators, Nachmonides.

Rabbi Jeffrey Segelman
Rabbi Jeffrey Segelman teaches our weekly Torah portion class. A native of Boston, he received his B.A. from Boston University and a B.H.L. from the Boston Hebrew College.
Rabbi Segelman attended the Jewish Theological Seminary where he earned his M.A. rabbinic ordination. He is the rabbi emeritus of the Westchester Jewish Center and is currently on the faculty and the Director of Field Placements at the Academy for Jewish Religion.

For the past 20 years Rabbi Hoffberg has been serving the Jewish community of Prague as the Masorti rabbi as well as a Professor of Jewish History at Charles University. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he was raised in the Conservative Movement, received his master's degree, ordination, and Honorary Doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He served as the Regional Director of Youth Activities for the United Synagogue of America/Philadelphia/Hagesher Region, was a pulpit rabbi in New York, and ,New Jersey. He serves on the Bet Din of Masorti Europe.
