?אִם אֵין אֲנִי לִי, מִי לִי

If I am not for myself, who will be for me?

Part 1

 Precious Memory Introduction

The Precious Memory Project begins with a series of workshops with Rabbi Amy Grossblatt Pessah where we uncover Jewish memories and identify the personal Jewish values you'd like to hand down. This journey looks inward to discover what your core Jewish values and beliefs are.

?וּכְשֶׁאֲנִי לְעַצְמִי, מָה אֲנִי

If I am only for myself, what am I?

Part 2

 What is an Ethical Will?

Under guidance from Merle Saferstein, you'll learn how to write an Ethical Will. An Ethical Will is a document that transmits your values and beliefs to your children and grandchildren and ensures that they live on in future generations.

Part 3: Precious Memory Photo Book

In the third phase of the Precious Memory Project, we will create a memory book comprised of your favorite photos with captions so your family will have a published legacy of your life and memories. Even if you're not one of the 15 students participating in the 4 part program, you can still join the "20 photos / 20 stories" project by collecting and sharing your photos with us starting in June 2020.

Part 4: Precious Memory Video

In the last phase of the Precious Memory Project, we will create a video to be shared with your family that eloquently shares what you would like to pass on from generation to generation.  This will be a life legacy. We'll help you choose historical times you'd like to share, important people you would like remembered, and your happiest and the moments that made you most proud.

Enjoy this Video Clip

The clip above is a 4 minute excerpt from the Precious Memory Project video made by Howard Chess for his family. When you make a Precious Memory Project video, your family will be able to see and hear your story in your own words. Howard, and a videographer, will work with you on a one to one basis, guiding you through this process. Your video will be roughly 30 minutes long.

We look forward to helping you keep your memories alive as a bridge between the many generations to come.
